Very quiet in my Fractal Design Define R3 case
Fast performance and surprisingly quiet! Granted I have a sound-proofed case by Fractal Design, but I had 1TB version of this drive a year ago, and it was much more audible in the same case. This drive is barely audible with faint clicking when seeking tracks. That says a lot, since my fans are all very quiet type and at low RPM, so the only thing I hear in my case is the pump of Corsair H100i CPU cooler and sometimes very faintly this drive. My main fear was that the drive would be noisy, but so far it's been a very pleasant surprise. Excellent hard drive and very quiet.
This hard drive is great for video gaming and storing media. You will not be disappointed. I purchased the drive a week or two ago and installed it in my Mini ITX computer and have had no issues with it so far. 6 TB is perfect for the next generation pc games especially on the Steam gaming network. I recommend waiting until their sales seasons begin such as the winter time, then you can get them for way cheaper. I forgot to mention that the drive is also very quiet as well. A lot less noisy than the 3tb FZEX model ! , temps 40 and under (22 celsius ambient) , speeds according to specs , read in the ~210MB/s range , write in 175MB/s range .
