  • Rushed adaptation that skips over many important details and nuances

I love the Steins;Gate anime, and the visual novel game is also excellent, but the manga adaptation is sadly pretty lacking. They rush through many plot points and important moments to the point where a lot of the nuance and impact of those scenes is lost. (In particular in this volume, so much of the nuance between Okabe and Kurisu's interactions is just straight up skipped, including a very important implication in the final scene!!) I just couldn't believe how rushed this was, and can't really in good conscience recommend it to anyone. If you're looking to get into Steins;Gate, just watch the anime instead. It's an excellent adaptation. And if you're a fan already, you're not really going to like this manga because so much of what makes the series great is skipped over.
