Worth the money
They sound decent and seem to hold up to their RMS rating. Time will tell how long they last but I would not hesitate to buy another set of these.
I used these in the dashboard of a 2001 E320 sedan. I removed the tweeter unit from the center of the speaker, as these were being used as the midrange portion of a 3-way component setup that already included a tweeter mounted high up in the door panel. They produce a clean midrange sound at low and high volume and help pull the soundscape higher up in the cabin. This way I can replace the full range 6.5 inch door speaker with a dedicated woofer that can take the wattage needed to make some decent bass. The end result is surprisingly good, based on the price point of the components I used.
I wanted to start out with a set of speakers that didn't cost much because I wasn't sure how well this arrangement would work, and because I want to see how well a poly cone speaker will hold up as they bake in the dash during the summer. Time will tell, but right now they sound good. For less than $20 they sound very good.
