June's cooling.
This works better and twice as powerful as apt unit air conditioner at 6000 BTU friderdaire with no remote. Doesn't take long to cool room to temperature of preference and will shut off once reaching temperature which apt unit A/C didn't . Not the greatest
For the BTU's this unit is supposed to put out You would think it would keep my attic bedroom nice and cool. Last night I had it set to 62 degrees just trying to keep the room cool. Room is 14x18 with only a 7 foot ceiling. Air feels nice and cold standing in front of the unit, but does not seem to cool down the whole room. I have to sleep with just a sheet, and even take the sheet off in the middle of the night. Portable A/C
States that it can handle a 400sq... I do not think so... maybe more like 300. I use this in my garage when working in the summer and it won't get the garage cooler then 15 degrees from what is outside. Eg: 100 outside 85 inside. TO be fair though, the garage does not have insulation. IT did work good in the back of the house and kept two bedrooms cool across the hall from one another with a bathroom in between the two, The House is insulated, and the unit did go off and on as you would expect for a unit to reach desired temp, kick off and of course kick on when temp rises. moveable from one one room to another
I do like the fact that it can be moved, you can direct your cold air. (a window unit is stuck where they are at.) with this unit i can position it to point in my living room, or i can swing it around to my kitchen and hallway. very nice, i am glad i made the purchase.. on the down side they are not any quieter than a window unit..Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Works great
This is much better than I expected. I use it in my living room which is bigger than the recommended size but still it gets very cold. Pros: works great and gets the area very cold the internal fan is strong and fast (3 speed levels) Installation was simple Cons: the hose that connects to the window is short and thus you can only put it next to the window!! noise may be an issue for some people (it's not for me :-) ) but it's not more noisy than any typical ac unit you'd see even in a hotel roomVerified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Would buy again!
I use it in a room that is roughly 120sq. ft. It has two large single pain windows. It has a low ceiling with the no attic. This got us through the summers worst temps and allowed us to sleep comfortably. The only thing that has failed is the oscillating vents. So I just leave them open. The second story room has a lot of issues with heat. But this unit handled it. I think being upset for how loud this unit is could be considered very petty. AC units as a mechanism are a loud mechanical affair. I was sleeping 4 feet from the unit running and just popped in some ear plugs. Problem solved. On the econ mode I think some work could be done to help the unit turn on and off a bit smoother. But I would buy another in a heartbeat. Nice and cold
I purchased this unit because it was a refurbed unit and a bigger unit for less than the local box store was selling the 10k BTU for. It has been a steal. You need to think of where you are going to plug it in because it does draw some power. If you use an extension cord make sure it is an appliance extension cord that is at least 14ga. wire so that it is designed for your needs.
