Set in a coal mining town near the Appalachian Mountains in 1978 Ava Maria (Ashley Judd) runs a pharmacy and leads a quiet life however a series of events incite a mid-life crisis. Very entertaining! Many of the characters are based loosely on real people. I lived for many years in Big Stone Gap. The scenery is beautiful! The movie captures the area well.
