I liked the illustrations and the parts that talked about what it's like to be a fish from the standpoint of having gills and swimming, but the parts about setting up a fish bowl should have been left out. Fish bowls are an outdated idea. The only fish that can really survive in a fish bowl is a betta, and even then it's not considered the best or most proper care. The final page recommends studying a fish care guide to its readers. I wish the author would have done the same before writing this book (or at least one from this era not the 1950s). I'd rather share proper information with children who like fish so they grow up with realistic expectations about owning their pet.
