I wanted clean highs, punchy mids, no muddied bass with a high decibel sensitivity for high volume with the lest amount of power. These speakers filled every expectation and are comparable to much much higher priced speakers. If you just want loud muddied bass there are many other cheaper speakers which would fill that need. Some might say that these have less bass than the other cheaper choices. I say that they have accurate rendition of the true sound without the distorted attempt with a muddied bass. These speakers do take well to amplifiers in their power range or slightly above their rating as long as it's a clean RMS power limit. But they also can be powered with less power such as a good head unit without sounding bad as long as the volume is kept at a reasonable level below the total harmonic distortion limit of lets say @1% where clipping would occur and be audible...usually about 3/4+ volume. I think for the money you cant go wrong with these for high fidelity sound at a fantastic price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

JBL GX963 offering great quality at a fair price
I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 which I use seasonally and the Infinity sound system, although good at its time is no comparison to the sound system in my Bmw. Browsing Crutchfield I found that these speakers will fit my truck (my options were limited) and I have to say the difference is remarkable! The sound quality is impeccable over the Infinity system and I am basing this off of a low quality Pioneer head unit so I am expecting even more impressive results once I receive and install my Alpine head unit! Great bass with no distortion, the mids and highs throw sound at me even in a vehicle with a mediocre acoustic design. Fast shipping and fantastic value
I replaced the rear speakers in a 2007 Honda Accord with these JBLs. Super fast shipping, Excellent packaging with original retail box. I bought the New Speakers not the Remanufactured speakers. The sound is vastly improved from the cheap factory speakers. The base is solid and eliminates a need for a subwoofer. Even when listening to hard rock or drum thumping Country. The miss and highs are very good. Listening to classical or any music the instruments have good separation and are not muddied together. These fit easily to replace the factory 6x9 mounted in the deck behind the headrests. The only issue is that the screw bolt holes do not line up perfectly with the existing holes. I could only get three screws in but it is not an issue because just two fastest the speaker tightly. JBL has made great speakers for a long time. Warning!!! You need an amp!!! I'm pushing 90watts Rms to these things. Speakers with that kind of power handling cannot be run by just a head unit. These things are awesome! Excellent speakers for the price
The speakers sound loud and clear, a little bright but not harsh. Bass response is good but speaker cone is sloppy when dealing with lower frequencies which in turn distorts midrange response. High pass filter solved the issue, 120hz at what I assume is 6dB/oct as Sony does not publish the slope in its literature. It maintains a nice midbass and punch at this setting which is a lot higher than I am used to, I may drop it down to 80 or 60 and use the amplifiers filter at a similar setting to increase the slope. Sound comes from a Sony XAV-AX100 through a Soundstream TN5.950D amp rated at 4Ω 85 x 4 & 270 x 1 and @ 2Ω 130 x 4 & 430 x 1, flat EQ and flat xover on amp. These being 3 ohm speakers should be seeing around 100rms each For the price I paid for these, I couldn't be happier with them!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
