You are not going to go wrong with either the wired or wireless P7s. I ultimately decided on the wireless version with better drivers in the earpieces and the ability to go wireless if needed. I am using these as a part of my home theater/stereo system and not for mobile devices like iphone, etc. The are identical in design which is stellar. Anyone whose ever had to "hold" their headphones closer to get more of a full sound or bass need not worry. These fit very comfortably and very snugly around your ears. My only real gripe on either is that the cord supplied is only 4 feet. B&W sells a 16 foot replacement cord (which I purchased) for under $20 and I love having the freedom to walk around while listening. No headphones will ever sound like tower speakers or a 5.1 system with dedicated subwoofer, but I find myself (especially late in the evening) very immersed while listening to LPs. They handle both digital and analog and analog sounds great. At the price point, these hold their own against headphones costing much more.. a real sleeper amongst other name brands. I compared against Bose and Grado (not $4000 Grado) :-) and the B&Ws excelled to my listening. Be aware that these are closed back headphones which means if someone is trying to get your attention, you're likely not going to hear them.. which sometimes can be a good thing! :-)Read full review

Give the music you love the respect it deserves. I am not new to the headphone world and have AKG K702's and Sennheiser HD650's to use as comparisons. When I first received the B&W P7 headphones, I was immediately blown away by the design and build quality. From the sheepskin ear pads and headband to the sweeping aluminum frame, they just ooze class. Praying that the presentation was not just for show, I put them on my head abd immediately noticed significant noise isolation..... very nice.... I tested them with a veriety of music from Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" to Skrillex's "Make it bun dem" to the haunting Ursine Vulpine's cover of "Wicked game". No matter what I threw at them, I could not pick fault on sound quality. The bass is fulland tight, the midrange and vocals are airy and crystal clear, and the highs have brightness without being harsh. Being closed back headohones, they offer an impressive soundstage and seperation. They can make your ears a little warm in long sessions, but they are so enjoyable thst I can live with that.Read full review

Please keep in mind, the only source I have used is a Fioo X5 player. The P 7 headphones are $250 nice. I would describe the sound as very good, but not "out of this world". The mid's and bass sound natural while the treble is "bright" to me. Others might describe the sound as "clear". They play loud and have no noticeable distortion. The bass is smooth. I would not describe the bass as tight or strong, but adequate. I personally light bright sounding music, and find them very satisfactory. Their sound-stage is only average. They do not sound nearly as good as my B & W 800 Diamond speakers driven with McIntosh MC 1201 mono amp's! But for one trillionth the cost, they are fine. Build quality is good, comfort and weight are fine too. They are not heavy, and not light. I have not listened to other headphones, so I can't give a comparison. I purchased mine, pre-owned for $250 was an o.k value. My definition of exceptional sound is something that sounds good, so pleasurable that I just can't seem to be able to leave the room. Great sound has the music surround me. Great sound makes the hair on my neck raise because I feel as though I am surrounded by the musicians, or I can seem them right in front of me. With these headphones, and the Fio, I have no problem falling asleep with them on. Although I am wearing them when I go to bed! I hope this helps. Read full review

I think the Bower,& Wilkins P7's are a fairly premium over the ear headphone with only a few short comings. Although the leather ear cup covers and head strap are premium, you get the sense that for longevity of the headset much care needs to be taken. They would've also gained a few ergonomic points if the ear cups were designed to lay on the shoulders when inactive. The sound quality is good from bass, mids,& highs but I do feel they cater too much to the more bottom end oriented music, hip-hop, EDM etc., especially for us Hard Rock lovers, not to mention I like my music Loud. But over all, for what I paid, a great find. $400 standard retail price, not so much.

If you looking for quality, great sound and craftsmanship, this is it. They look gorgeous, elegant and sound is amazing! Bass,meds, and highs are well balanced. You can take on all kind of music without worrying that those can’t take it. No sweat, no problem. I love those cans, get it without thinking. That’s my opinion so no hate please. We all got different approach to stuff (specially headphones), but those blowed my expectations! Thanks.

Bowers and Wilkins P7 wired headphones produce a lively, neutral sound. If I compare them to my Bose qc15 it is apparent immediately how much more transparent, extended and dynamic they are. The P7 reproduces sound with excellent separation and cohesion, the soundstage is well defined. Part of the way these cans achieve their excellent sound is through isobaric coupling. Meaning, because the “over the ear” design seals tightly against your head, sound waves from the drivers pressurize the space in the cans and efficiently push on your eardrums. So, there is little or no loss of pressure, relative to an “on the ear” design. However, if you wear glasses, or have really big hair, you may not get as good a seal, and thus not as good a sound as I get with my bald head and glasses off. I have found that the bass and mid-bass details and overall cohesion suffers if I am wearing my glasses, due to the air leak around the glasses. But here is the rub, because the isobaric sealing is so important to the design of these cans, the fit can feel a bit tight on some people’s heads, and that might be distracting. In my experience, the headphones need a little time to break in, both for best sound, and to have the head band loosen up a bit. I intentionally stretch the band out a bit upon each wearing, it seems to have helped. Will these headphones change your life? Are they the best you can buy? Of course not. The Worlds best headphones cost $800... ,$1000.... , $3000.....as much as you want to spend. Bowers and Wilkins sells their “best” headphones for $900. And there has to be a compromise in sound/experience as you go “down” from the top end of their product line. Which is why the P7 retails at $350. In summary, the Bowers/Wilkins P7 is a very nice sounding set of headphones, with few compromises at the retail price of $350. They are however an exceptionally good deal when purchased used for $160 off of eBay if you can deal with the way they fit on your particular head.Read full review

Most excellent sound. Because they are low impedance, you don't need an external headphone amp to run them. However, I am choosing to running a $75 tube amp. With it, these headphones really light up! Tight fitting but not uncomfortable. Elegant feel and clean aesthetics. The sound is fantastic. Good all around tone representation and a decent sound stage.

these here are so good to listen to I cant describe it. i had many many 300-500$ cans. very detailed and extend in the higs very well. but the bass here is delicious. there is a hump in lower freqs. but it doesnt cloud on the mids in any way. sound stage is medium. the wireless aspect of the P7 is amazing. I had the QC35 previously. the P7s connect to 2 devices with ease. it switches between the two. re-connection to devices is instant. much quicker than the QC35. I use Galaxy S8, Samsung UHD TV KS9500 and Lenovo laptop for work. almost no connection hickups. didnt actualy tested the battery but i rarely charge them. prev headphones owned: ATH M50X, Sennheiser HD8, B&O H6, Oppo PM3, Bowers Wilkins P9 (owned briefly).

The Bowers & Wilkins P7 wired headphones are a true audiophile headphone. To me, very detailed and with outstanding bass, not at all boomy. The mid’s are impressive as are the highs, just a bit rolled off which adds to the lushness and warmth. Very easy to lose yourself for several hours of listening without fatigue.
