Lightweight & Sound Great
Sound quality is a subjective thing and I would recommend trying any headphones with your own equipment before buying, bearing that in mind here is my review of the Beyerdynamic T51p. The good news is that to my ears this is a great sounding pair of headphones. I've listened to Iggy & The Stooges at brain rotting volume without any distortion or loss of quality and at the other end of the musical spectrum Arturo Rubenstein playing Chopin Nocturnes also sounds great. This is a pair of headphones that will do justice to a wide range of music and has sufficient dynamic range and quality to pick up subtle details without becoming cold or over analytical. The Beyerdynamic t51p is a comfortable pair of headphones, the earpads are well sized and cause no irritation even when worn over a long period in hot conditions and the headband has just enough padding to be comfortable without being too bulky and enough adjustment to allow a secure but not over tight fit across a range of headsizes. Build quality is 1st class and I have no doubts concerning the longterm future of these headphones providing a reasonable amount of care is taken and they are stowed in the case provided when carried in a bag. That said there is no provision to upgrade or replace the cable provided so extra care needs to be taken in this area. Overall I'm more than happy with the Beyerdynamic t51p and I'm very fussy about the sound quality of the music I listen to. I would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality on ear headphone at a sensible price.
