Simply Great Small Server for the Money
This server may not be the fastest you can get but I bet you cannot get as much for the money on anything else. Even with just the 4GB memory that was included this server performs very well. I did add a 250GB SSD for the operating system and installed programs to boost response times and i turned the 500GB server-class spinner HD into a data drive. This machine really is as quiet as all the reviewer say. I have to look at the front panel to see if it's on and my old server all i had to do was walk in the room. I only wish i had bought two so i could use one as a FreeNAS server for home. It doesn't have hot swapable drives but nothing at this price point will. It works well enough as a small server or limited VM server but I am using it mostly like a large workstation with Windows 10 Pro and not server OS. Even after adding the SSD and OS I have not seen anything in it's class for anywhere near its price point. I will tell you that you will need to contact Lenovo customer support to get your 1-year warrant dates corrected. Like most business systems, the warranty is set to the date it shipped from the factory and you must reset it with proof of purchase to get the right expiration date. I had no problems at all installing Windows 10 Pro and before that I installed openSuSe Tumbleweed and it went smoothly as well. Since this one is just a glorified workstation i would rather deal with Windows as the desktop. Highly recommended, especially when it's on sale!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wanted a NAS upgrade. Got a very capable workstation.
Picked this up to replace an ARM based NAS. Added a GTX 750 ti (2 x DVI-D 1440p monitors) , 16 GB ecc memory and Intel Gig NIC. I choose to use Ubuntu as the OS. Getting the nvidia drivers and config just right has taken some patience, but everything else worked great. Best PC Ever
You're not going to find a better deal that this TS140, beside its bigger sibling. Its amazingly quite. Would recommend this server as a desktop PC, given it's more reliable memory and processor, especially if you keep your PC on for days at a time without restarting. Solid Machine
Definitely loving this machine. For the price ($278 at time of purchase), this machine is amazing. I bought it because the processor alone retails for $220, which means I paid about $60 for the rest of the system. This thing runs our media center and Emby and runs 24/7 in our living room. The TS140 is one of those special machines
The TS140 was special - I've owned a few for years now, and if you look, they've never lost any value - they resell for close to what you paid for them (if you bought them on sale back in the day, that is).
