    Easy to setup

It’s plug and play, just have to go into the setup menu of the unit to enable OTA channels, they will be there instatly and by the next morning the programming information will be in the guide. The only issue I’ve had is during high action sports or rapid frame rate changes it will sometimes break up or even completely blank out. If you switch channels and go back, everything is normal again, doesn’t happen often but can be annoying. Still worth having the channels available in the giude, which BTW, allows you to record to the DVR.

    Kind of works

Dual tuner works ok but there are several limitations and drawbacks. The same OTA antenna attached to TV gets more channels with correct id and program info. Dish does integrate signal into program guide but some channels are misidentified and program info is poor to missing altogether. You lose prime time anytime and don’t have enough tuners or timers that you had before. You may save some fees or you may not bc again Dish screwed up and didn’t disclose which packages have locals for free. You may get some additional channels. Mixed results.

  • Works well, runs warm...

I paid attention to the other reviewers and ordered a fan to help cool this adapter. Even with the fan, it still is warm, but not hot. As for the adapter's function, I haven't had any problems with receiving 2 local stations at the same time. Signal level is about the same as my previous Dish DVR which had the OTA plug in "cartridge".

  • Dish OTA USB adapter

This item was easy to setup and has great picture quality, however it runs hot and doesn't have as good of reception as my TV.

  • Easy set up. Does not get hot.

Works as it should. Need to have one for each Hopper. Only two tuners. If you have more than one Tv hooked up to Hopper you can only watch two OTA channels at the same time. Gets the signal as direct OTA to tv from antenna.

  • Save your money and buy this OTA tuner if you are a Dish customer

Instantly wiped $12 a month off my Dish bill. 1. You'll need a good antenna (I use an outdoor antenna.) 2. Install the USB OTA adapter on your Hopper. 3. Use the setup menu to scan your local over the air stations. 4. Verify it works by viewing your local stations (OTA in the guide). 5. Call Dish or (best) login to your account and drop the retrans local stations. (It was $10 a month and now it is $12). You'll get more stations and pay for the adapter in less than six months! Great job Dish!

  • defective

Set up went smooth then within about 10 minutes the adapter became severely overheated. First all the OTA channels disappeared then all the regular dish channels couldn't be accessed. Unplugged the device but had to use a rag to touch the device because it was so hot. Rebooted my hopper and the dish channels returned. Returned the device

  • Almost seamless, but still perfect.

It fills in the holes left by negotiation squabbles with Meredith in our local programming. It also provides many subchannels that I never got before, a few are actually worth watching. My only beef is that it is hot to the touch.

  • Excellent!

This Adapter allowed the OTA Stations to integrate into the Dish Guide. Please note not all OTA Stations include guide information. The Major local Channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox etc.) do Broadcast that information and after a day the OTA Channel information(Guide Information) populated into the Guide. FYI: We are 20 to 50 miles from Broadcast Station Antennas in our area. We are using an Inside Antenna with a booster. We were able to receive 21 OTA Channels with good Picture and Sound. This allowed us to drop the Local Channels from the Dish Bill.

  • Doesn't pixilate like the single tuner version Great image

Bought this one to correct the pixilation problem I had with the old single tuner version of this device. I went through a lot of antennas/signal amplifiers before realizing the problem wasn't there. I'm happy to say this unit has fixed the problem. Very happy with it!
