Amazing little guy!
1.) It can be wired directly to the battery and auto switches off when the head unit is turned off. 2.) Delivers way more than enough power for my needs. Head unit dials to up to 50, but amp channels 1-4 only at 25%, sub-woofer channel 5 max, and I can't dial my head unit past 30 cause it hurts my ears. No distortion as all. 3.) Init fit's under my cars dash, very close to the head unit! (1971 Montego) 4.) Perfect amount of channels (5). LF, RF, LR, RR, and Sub-woofers. 5.) Wiring was easy once I took the time to really relax and read it. Created and soldered my own harness. 6.) Used with - Sony Head unit Model: MEXN4280BT . Alpine 6" w/1" tweeter component X4. 10" SV Alpine 4ohm Sub X2 wired inline.

Low quality output.
Even with properly run grounds and power, you get hum at zero volume with the gains turned almost completely down. You might as well just use high level outputs from a deck directly to speakers and not use this amp. Price is attractive, and power is big, but sound quality is poor. Great 5 channel amp
It’s the second I’ve purchased. I have one running 4 6.25 in speakers with a 10 in sub and another currently running 4 6x8s, awaiting sub. Would recommend if you plan to install that sub as a 5th channel. With the 40 A fuse being on the outside, it makes diagnostic testing easier than with amps like the Sound Ordnance 75Wx4 Be warned that amps like the Sound Ordnance 75Wx4 would give better bass output and control over the speaker channels, while this SoundStream PN5.640D would give less bass control over the speaker themselves in preference of the 5th channel for the subwoofer.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
