Outstanding pasta maker perfection!
This is my fourth pasta maker; I finally have one done properly! My first was, if memory serves correctly, a Pasta Perfetto. That machine died so I bought a Takka which worked well but was no fun to clean and had bad bearings, so the machine kept getting louder and louder, to the point of needing hearing protection while operating! Not kidding in the least! I bought another Takka, used, and it is developing the same issue, unfortunately a result of poor design. I just bought this certified Philips Avance pasta machine and could not be more pleased! It is SO QUIET!!! The only advice I can offer is to pause the machine right before it extrudes and let it rest for 5 minutes or so, to allow all the moisture to be absorbed and the pasta will be a bit more chewy. This machine works PERFECTLY. If you fail to make excellent pasta in the Philips Avance then you are doing something wrong, PERIOD. Weigh the flour on a digital scale, don’t just scoop and scrape, and you should be good to go. I picked up the other 10 extrusion discs directly from Philips; trying to find them elsewhere was a waste of time.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Where is the cutter, where is the special prod to clean it out. How in the world can someone read the water indicator when it is so important! Great machine
Very impressed with this product. It looks just like new. It arrived early so that was a plus. I have made two pasta meals with it already and love the pasta. Nothing like homemade pasta especially when this machine does it so quickly and automatically. I would have rated it higher but didn't want to do that at this point because I haven't used it enough. Think of this..... adding spices/flavors right into the pasta and it actually tastes the way it should. Think of pasta thats fresh, homemade with your ingredients. Think that might take a long time? No, its fast and the machine does the work. Want a child to join in? Kid can cut off the noodles to length with the not sharp tool or add ingredients into the hopper. Easy to Use and Clean Pasta Maker
The unit is easy to use with an automatic function that should be on almost always. The discs change out easily and the recipe book is really cool. Not straightforward but a great machine!!
While it is not compact and not easy to operate ...initially that is....the instructions aren't great and it is tricky to clean......BUT we love it!! The directions and measurements aren't clear but through trial and error we got a good formula and the machine is fun to use and makes great pasta. You have to be prepared to spend some time to figure everything out and practice. Once you get it you will love it. The company would serve itself well to improve the instructions. Cleaning is a challenge but the tip on leaving it set awhile before cleaning is essential. Looks and works like new
I've wanted this pasta maker from the first time I saw it. However the full price new was steep. I found this refurbished one and decided to take a chance. What arrived was perfect and completely indistinguishable from a new one, except for the retail box. All parts were included, and the unit had no signs of previous use at all. I've made several batches of pasta, and the unit functions as described with no hiccups. BOUGHT IT FOR PENNE WHICH COMES OUT VERY GOOD. YOU HAVE TO USE THE SHARP LITTLE TOOL TO CLEAN OUT THE EXTRUSION AREA WELL BECAUSE IT'S A TINY OPENING so a bit putsy. Worth it for fresh pasta but not so time efficient no matter what brand of machine you use. Do pay close attention to your measuring cup. My best results are with semolina.
