Quality of Yamaha Trombones
Yamaha trombones are the top of the line. While the 400 series Yamaha models are what I would term "advanced student models", this one plays beautifully, with a rich darker tone that is characteristic of the larger bore trombones. Everything is smooth and works well--the tuning slides, the F attachment, and the regular slide. The standard Yamaha mouthpiece is excellent, though do understand that Yamaha uses a large bore mouthpiece, and to use my smaller bore mouthpieces, I had to burn (separately) a Yamaha mouthpiece adaptor (about $40). This trombone is a great value for the money.
