I was debating for ages on whether to get this camera. And since buying one so far I have not been disappointed. I mainly got this for the big zoom and even without a Tripod you can still get decent enough pictures of Birds or the Moon etc. Even a plane that was miles away! Only downside which is a small one, is that it is quite bulky so I hope one day one maybe smaller with the same features as technology progresses. Has long battery power as well. I took 300 photos and video and camera was on alot inbetween when going to the zoo and it still had alot of batter power left. Long as you charge it up for least 2 hours before use. Definitely worth the money and even though have always enjoyed taking photos, it has made me even more interested in learning and even learning about the different birds and craters of the Moon. All I need now is a tripod just for the total zoom capacity for total sharpness. But check my pics so far, with just the camera!! All the pics except the bird were a long way away.Read full review

This was a bit of an impulse buy, although I'd been looking at this camera for a while now. There are a number of good reviews on YouTube if you're curious. The newer P1000 has been launched, which is a much larger camera but with x120 (or 3000mm) zoom, and because of this there are now some real bargains to be had with the P900. When using the camera for the first time, it takes a while to get used to features like manual focus (again, I would recommend going online to watch some of the video tutorials that are available.) The camera does not have the option to record images in RAW format, which is a pity, but then I think this is a camera aimed at the "fun" end of the market. The zoom is... incredible!

The photos are not up to my DSLR but used with tripod or mono pod good results can be obtained at full zoom. No changing lenses so can switch to zoom from scene in seconds Bought for a holiday and absolutely fills the bill. I am very pleased with this camera and you have to bear in mi d it is a bridge camera and don’t put expectations higher than is sensible. Easy to use. I don’t intend to take photos for national geographic so have no complaints and I do find the not having to swap lenses a great plus both in convenience and cost Would recommend this camera

The zoom on this camera is amazing....perfect for capturing wildlife and scenery. It is bigger and heavier than similar cameras, which doesn't come across in the picture, I have to say I was surprised how chunky it was. It's very easy to use however and the picture quality is really sharp! The overall package with this camera is great, everything you need to take wonderful photos and at a very reasonable price. I would recommend this product to anyone.

It takes great images in all weather conditions. It is light so its easy to take anywhere you go. The only bad bit I've discovered is the battery it doesn't last long so if you are going to buy this camera ensure you buy spare batteries with it.

Having been a 'Canon' man for 60 years+ sometimes with a small zoom this rather late purchase has brought my photography up to a new level. I am delighted that I took the leap and made the purchase. Yes it is a bit heavier, with a few new and different features to learn, but the power of the zoom is amazing.

Great really. No point buying the p900 it's not much different and has less features. If they bring a camera with 150 optical zoom I'm in!! For the extra 40 zoom it's not worth spending another 500 quid. It would be blurry anyway at full capacity.

I had a D90 Nikon camera and upgraded to this P900 what a great camera. Work well in low light and even better during the day. Easy to use and video mode also very good.would recommend to everybody.

The Nikon P900 is lightweight, fairly robust and it packs a wallop! There are more options than you're ever likely to need, but this isn't a bad thing, it gives you lots of flexibility. The simple way in which Nikon have designed it makes it easy to select a function. If you want to choose infinity for instance, it's a simple move down with the selector wheel on the back and you choose from there. The flash is very capable and will give good light saturation, although there is a slave flash in the kit that can take it further. The file system is JPEG only, why they didn't include RAW support is beyond me but it still produces crisp, clear pictures. The macro function works brilliantly allowing you to get as close as the lens will take before it actually touches the item you are photographing. As far as effects go, it has a good selection to choose from, I tend to use the 'miniature' and 'selective colour' ones mostly, but there are others that will no doubt come in handy. It feels 'right' when you hold it, even though it isn't exactly small, in fact it's on par with an SLR in size, more so when the zoom is at maximum. Speaking of which - that zoom is incredible, how they packed the lenses into this camera is amazing. I have taken shots of aeroplanes and managed to see the owners name written on the side with it flying at 30,000ft!! For the first time I've been able to get some beautiful shots of birds that frequent my garden, from Magpies to Robins, I've even managed to snap a pheasant. The clarity and colours are beautiful with on-camera editiing you can even change the image before it is uploaded to your laptop, tablet or computer, there is also a phone app that allows you to control the camera from your phone too. Images are downloaded to your phone in seconds after you've taken them. A favourite that most people take is the moon; the sheer detail alone makes purchasing this camera a must for any avid astronomer, I even got a photo of Saturn! The battery is decent and will last you a full days shooting, including some movie footage, it also records in 1080p too! The movie's are smooth with good colour reproduction, and the microphone picks up distant sounds as well. The kit comes with two SDHC cards when combined they give you 24 gig to play with! For me that is more than enough, but you can purchase as many as you require should you require more storage. It's the choice that I love about this camera; I can choose at an instant whether I am photographing fireworks or sunset's, portraits or landscapes, everything is just a touch of a button away which makes it a very appealing camera. If you can live without RAW then this will not disappoint you, the sheer zoom and many options will keep you busy for hours. From low light to backlit subjects it offers a myriad of solutions; the carry case is also fairly robust and makes it easy to carry the camera, all in all it's the camera you've always wanted but until recently hasn't been available - until now :)Read full review
