Plenty of features, fun to goof around with...
This thing is a decent stomp box. It has about seven seconds only to get a phrase down in the looper position, then you can play and add others lines/textures to it. Take a gander at all the other positions you can fool with: ping-pong, reverse, analog, space echo and so on. The delay time is its only drawback. For instance, the Line-6 delay has 23 seconds, the DD-20, about half that. For me, I've only had it about three weeks and am still noodling with it, so I don't know all the ins/outs it can/cannot do. It will take longer to study the manual and try other things before I can comment on all of the little tricks this box can do. For the price, it's nice. It's not an Eventide, but you know that. For my money, the Line-6 is better only because it has more delay time stored in it. The PDF -file/manual is online and free and take a look at that before buying, so you can see all the device has to offer, inputs and so on. But this thing also is professional grade, does what it says it does, and is worth spending time on. Recommended for your guitar arsenal and especially for loopers. Pro player with a lot of experience with delays and loopers.
Great delays and easy to use. Very good looper but..... You loose half the time running stereo in. It makes sense but they don't tell you this. Cutting the record time down to 20 sec is still enough time for most of my stuff but not all. At last I found the delay pedal I have been looking for. I'll end up getting the smaller version some day as well. It has the type delay sounds I've been looking for that I don't have to dial into place, just step on a button. (the Edge sound) And I can tweak them to my liking. SO MUCH TO OFFER, SO EASY TO USE!
The TC Electronic brand Flashback x4 is one of the best delay pedals i have used. It offers so many variations, yet is so simple to use. You don't need a 350 page owner's manual and a pot of coffee to figure it out like a lot of tech devices these days. With the exception of setting your three favorite delays to the preset buttons, it's pretty much self explained, and being able to preset three delay tones of choice is a big factor in using this pedal... No Fine tuning or readjusting as with other delay pedals As far as the Looper, it is a nice addition to the Delay Pedal.... Myself, I am not much of a Looper guy, but I have used this feature from time to time with good results...... My rig is a PRS Guitar and a Vox AC30 amp... Many delay settings and easy looper
I like all the settings for delay and how you can alter the delays with 3 switches. Has the sound of many other delays all in one. The looper is great and easy to use once you get the timing down. Tap tempo switch changes speed of delay with a tap faster or slower. Nice unit, pretty large footprint on the pedal board though. Knobs are large size and visible and easy to use. Solid delay pedal option
I wanted a delay where I wouldn't have to tweak knobs to get different sounds and could swap mid song on stage. With the 3 presets as options, this seems to do the job well. The case feels solid and although I haven't been able to dig into the unit much yet, it seems very user friendly.
