The dark Painkiller universe heads off in a new direction in Painkiller: Overdose. The game is still a fast-paced first-person shooter, but instead of battling demons with series protagonist Daniel Garner, gamers take on the role of Belial, a half-angel, half-demon dealing with the repercussions of Garner's defeat of Lucifer. Players can equip themselves with eight new demonic weapons, and blast their way through 17 new levels filled with dozens of beastly monsters. Amazing how the cheapest, and oldest games can still out-value expensive titles.
So this is a game is pretty much about a demon who destroys other evil forces. The game play is solid, and strait forward. Out of other games that have a 20 dollar price, games like this can still put some of them to shame. The graphics are actually quite good for a 2007 game, and the mechanics are accurate, but simple. I have not gotten that far in the game, but I was impressed with how much fun I began to have. If you're looking to buy this game, I do not believe you will be disappointed. It may not have advanced mechanics like you'd expect in a modern game, but games like pain killer reminds us what made simple games just as great.
