Lar died last year and I am fortunate to have met him. He was at every ASO show I ever attended. I am not convinced he had the best eye for authentic pieces but I am entirely convinced he was very knowledgeable and the information about the pre-historic tools photo'd and the people who made them was, and remains, one of the best learning tools for novice collectors about the pre-historic people who populated the Midwest! If you are new to this field of collecting, this is the book for you. Supply, demand, the ECONOMY, financial status/knowledge of buyer and seller concerning authenticity/provenance determine the final "value" of any artifact. These are all one of a kind collectibles and his "price guide" is the only fault I have with this book and every other artifact price guide I have ever seen. I still give it a 5/5.Read full review
great resource for my collectibles

The book helps in identifying important Native American artifacts and specific details. I would like to have seen more pics in color although the B&W pics are fine. I bought it to participate with other books I have in my library on this subject.
