Original equipment . I made an external bracket and spindle holder using this spindle adapter. It has a 5/8 in diameter shaft. I fitted it with a cork sheet on the flat side to serve as a friction clutch to prevent overrun of the reel. I use a thrust roller bearing on the tension adjustment nut and it works great to adapt a 10 lb welding wire reel to the back side of my HF mig welder and actually feeds better too.
