Like it a lot!!
I take it on the Bus and the Subway and just strap to my back and get going where I got to go. Nice pockets and great gig bag that takes care of my bass during traveling with no issues. Only one thing it is taller then some gig bags due to make sure fits all types of basses but, still the padding protects its. So, some times you have to take it off your back if you have a lower ceiling or doorway to get through. Also, the Gig Bag is very comfortable on the back.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

"lightweight" = not very protective.
I would only recommend it as a very basic way to transport your bass from car to rehearsal space/gig. It has a couple of good features like the plastic covered handle and pouch but overall offers the barest minimum of protection, one step up from gig-bags costing 1/2 the price. The backpack straps are connected too low so it's hard to use it comfortably. I generally only use one side when walking with my hands full of gear. As a comparison, my Mono bag is very protective and well designed/constructed in every way. It cost a whole lot more - but regardless of cost differences the strap mis-location on the Gator is simply an example of bad design. (as in, if it were connected higher - problem solved) So as to the above yes/no "is it good value", for me it falls somewhere in the middle - I guess for the cost it's serviceable but if I were in a store with a few different gig-bags to choose from - I probably wouldn't have bought it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great, affordable gig bag with sufficient padding!
I've really been enjoying this lightweight gig bag for my Jazz bass. Has good inside padding (could of course be more snug but for the price it's excellent) nice zippers and headstock pocket, nice outside pocket for extras and feels well made. Only caveat is it's crazy tall when wearing the padded straps like a backpack. It goes about 14 inches over my head making any doorway a difficult maneuver at nearly 7ft tall.
