I almost never write reviews, but just HAVE to tell you how amazing this machine is! I work nights, only to come home to an autistic boy who is very sweet, but he is extremely loud due to his nature. Couple that with a two year old that constantly throws high pitched tantrums, and some folks above me that stomp around like wild elephants whilst yelling and fighting all the time. Next are the people next to me that stay up all night playing super loud music and singing to some rock band game, and drinking to the point of eveyone thinking that they need to yell over one another. I was not able to get any sleep. Have tried fans, headphones, earplugs, burrying my head under pillow WITH ear plugs in, listening to music,"calming waves" sleep machines....etc. So, with many thoughts that I would end up a lunatic from lack of sleep, I decided to try this machine out. Let me tell you, the moment that I turned it on I thought, "This thing is loud; how am I going to get used to it?" Well, that is the entire point. I allowed myself to get comfy. Suddenly, I was thinking that all of the noisy folks had gone somewhere so I relaxed and went to sleep only to wake 8 hours later with no interruptions! I turned the machine off; lo and behold, those folks WERE still upstairs - screaming adults, stomping elephants, high pitched baby and all! The white noise of this thing is very comforting now. Turning it off is the stressful part ;) My sister has since bought one of these for her baby. It has worked wonders! This machine does exactly as advertised! I was able to adjust the "fan/white noise" levels to cover every single sound. You can set it to last for 60 minutes, or you can let it run all day or night. I keep it on constantly. This thing is a life saver!!! You will not be sorry - and will find sanity again. I am just thrilled! Pros: Everything listed above. Been using this for about a year now and it's been solid, no problems with it. Usually turn it on for Saturday and Sunday mornings when I want to sleep in. Great for dealing with barking dogs, lawn mowers, cars & trucks, and people talking. Has a lot of filter settings so you can tune the white noise to a particular frequency range you are trying to cover. This takes a little bit of listening and adjustment but it's worth it. Just wish it came with a power adapter instead of a USB cable (runs off 5volt USB).

I have literally scoured the earth to find a good sound machine. The ones that sound like wind chimes drive me nuts, and the sound of rain just makes me want to get up to go to the bathroom. Tried every kind of fan, ionizer, and App, but they all have their own awful hum that is worse than the obnoxious Xcel power box in my back yard that keeps me awake, and even chased away the birds, who won't go near that sound. Xcel as usual won't do a thing for a mere customer. All they care about is money. When I first received this product, almost sent it back because I thought there's no way this tiny machine could possibly work. Imagine my surprise when it did! I had resorted to shooter's earplugs to block out the noise that no other "white sound" machine has even come close to doing. However they invented this, I just want to say sincere thanks - you've saved my sanity, probably my job (slept through alarms because couldn't hear with earplugs in), and brightened every day because at long last I sleep through the night. Living in a small condo with two Chihuahua dogs, noises from Neighbors in the hallway often makes them excitable and bark. The white noise machine softly drowns out distracting noises and calms them. I really only use two or three of the 20 sounds. Once you go through them you land on the fan and white noise sounds you like and pretty much keep it set there. I was surprised at how good it sounded for its size. It has a deep enough bass tone to make a good sound block.
