The sound quality is clear and precise. not too bassy but it has a decent punch to it. the open design allows hearing your surroundings at moderate volume levels. but keep in mind that if you pump up the volume the sound leaks clearly to your surroundings so bear that in mind. It's light and the materials feel nice for the price point. although the hinges seem like a likely breaking point if used roughly. the ear cups are a bit shallow and your ears might touch the drivers but they are covered by a soft fabric that makes them not uncomfortable. (this can be replaced easily for aftermarket ones if you wish). comes with a 10ft or 3mts rubberized 3.5mm cable with a silver branded tip on one side and a black one on the other and it comes with a 6.3mm adapter. mine came with a defect on the right driver that caused a really annoying buzzing sound at moderate to high volume but after research, I found that this is not the norm and that it's pretty rare. but I found a fix by disassembling the driver housing and blowing hard on it. and the problem went away. Everything was great about them, an especially good product for the price point, but the headphones were too large for my head on the smallest setting. They would fall off my head (not my ears) when I leaned forward. I have a normal size head and this hasn't been a problem before, but my sound producer/larger-than-normal-sized-head partner said that they would keep them in a second!

Easily the cleanest sounding set of cans for a sub-200 dollar headphone. The only step up in terms of clarity is the ath-msr7 and those things cost more than double these do. The bass is a little light but these things sound impeccable and have a very clear, airy, and sparkly sound signature. Amazing for any complex guitar riffs(catching every detail), and great for detailed electronic music as well. For rap and bass heavy music sounds very clear and energetic but leaves something to be desired when listening to a very bass heavy track. These are meant for QUIET environments, they sound empty in noisy environments. I take them outside if I know it'll be quiet. These have a slightly loose fit but very comfortable and secure when you're not moving your head to often. The earcups are plenty large and will accommodate large ears easily. Get these now, while they're readily available.Read full review

So this is my first pair of fully openback headphones. My other pair is the akg m220 pro semi open studio headphones which retail at the same price. I spent about an hour replaying 1 song going back and forth between the 2 and noticed a few big differences. These headphones have a lot flatter sound signature whereas the m220's were quite warm. These pick up a lot more without getting as muddy. Both have great frequency ranges and low impedance so they can be ran by anything. The shp9500s do not have much clamp which makes them comfortable as long as you don't want to look down.. making this mistake will result in them turning into a blindfold with sound. All in all I enjoy these headphones and would recommend

This is about as good as it gets for the price range and more. They sound great, well balance, super comfortable. The only con is that the earpads aren't removable easily - you can do it but ya gotta jump through some hoops. They are comfortable so the only reason I'd see you removing them is if it gets really old and rip or something like that. This rivals my HD 650 in most areas except resolution. Still really good but the 650's are great however $300+. I think this is a steal of a deal. Easily the biggest bang for the buck in my quiver. Go get one now!

PROS: Great quality of sound, very lightweight, long audio cord included and affordable pice. Bought a VMODA Boom Mic with it and works awesome. Can wear this for a very long time. Very good headphones overall. CONS: Not enough clamp force, it may slide if you move even a bit, and in my particular case had to buy a sound card for it to work fine.
