My Sea-Doos were equipped with the plastic Oil Filler Caps. During winterization, the oil & filter are changed along with coolant system treatment by a certified Sea-Doo dealer. For 2 spring outings after de-winterizing, my units unexpectedly entered the "Limp" mode that at least allowed me to return home. Upon investigating, the failure each time was due to over torquing of the bolt securing the oil filter cap. The center of the cap fractures and allows engine oil to seep thru the cap and spray into the engine compartment. I am expecting the metal cap to be more durable and solve this nuisance problem.
