This camera takes excellent pictures in the daytime, as good as a smart phone. But at night the range to trigger has only been around 20 feet. It has been raining almost every night, maybe that has something to do with it. I moved it closer the bait that was out to see some foxes last night, and was finally able to get some grainy pics of them. For the price this seems to be a great camera even with this one complaint.

I bought this for the hopes that I could use it in case somebody tried to mess with my vehicle. I guess it's ok to give to your kids as a toy or a hunter that doesn't expect other people to be around but it didn't meet MY needs. I mounted it outside one of my windows and 1) It's very time consuming to adjust where a person or animal has to be, to trigger it and it basically has to be at a height where the person triggering it can steal it. 2) It doesn't reach the distance it specifies. 3) When it WAS triggered the camera was too slow to capture any video or pictures. So if you plan on buying one for a purpose like mine just spend the extra money right away and buy a home security system because for the reasons mentioned up above I considered it to be a waste of money.

Camera instructions easy to understand and follow. Had camera ready to take to the woods in 5 minutes. Daytime pictures are good. Some night pictures are a little blurry but no problem seeing horns or identifying what picture is of. Had several pictures of birds, rabbits, and a couple rats. Few pictures did not capture whatever activated camera. Don't think you can beat it for what it cost. Quality of pictures is acceptable for money invested. Will consider buying another one should I decide to get another camera.

I bought this because I knew I was feeding a black cat in the barn but the food was disappearing too fast. I wanted to see what was going on. I found out where the feed is going now. I'm feeding a litter of kittens and another adult cat I didn't know I had. Set up is easy and I bought a 32GB SDHC class 4 card for it and set it up to take bursts of 3 pics every 60 secs after it saw movement. I've been using it for 2 days. I took low resolution pics because I didn't need higher resolution. My barn is dark but does have a 60 watt light about 10 feet away from the dishes. Setting the time and date is easily and it even takes video which I haven't tried. I just noticed I set the year wrong in my pics. It does keep the time well and you have to remember to hit set after you change your settings. I bought cheap 8 AA high drain batteries. Today it took 60MBs of pics and my battery still shows a full charge on it. Drawbacks are sometimes if a cat moves too fast the pic will be blurry. Also if you take the cam down you have to thread the strap through the clasp each time to set it back up. Over all I like it and plan on buying a second one for another building.Read full review

It takes clear pictures but I've noticed the night pics aren't as clear as portraid. That's definitely expected from the price obviously. I have 10 other various models of moultrie cameras & this one holds close enough with the other more expensive ones

This is by far the best trail camera I have ever seen for the price...This camera takes high quality photos, and also doesn't just get the tail end of the animal your after...ive bought six different brand's of cameras, and I will only buy moultrie from here on out...great product

I looked at about 40 of these devices, comparing specifications, price, and reviews from other users. Yes there are cheaper units, but they tend to have poorer ratings, high cost, and the picture quality is low. However, this Moultrie seemed to have the perfect balance - there wasn't a single other device with this picture quality in this price range. It works flawlessly and setup was straight forward and only took a few minutes to set time/date stamps for video. I've got this aimed into my driveway to catch critters messing with my garbage can. This Moultrie catches cars driving by at 40-50 yards away in the day. Images are very clear, especially the night images. Easily I get 30 yards of clear night video and can even see my neighbors house 70 yards away (though they do have some exterior lighting that I'm sure helps the Moultrie capture their home). Very pleased. I just recommend getting a good memory card of 32g. I've recorded 3-4 days of video (24 hours straight) and have only used 25% of my memory. So, the motion sensor does a great job weeding out meaningless movement. Though, sometimes I do get images with nothing, it doesn't happen often. I think many times it's because a car flys by my house and because the video delay, it's gone before the camera activates. Overall, couldn't be happier!!Read full review

Daytime photos good, but in order to get perspective of animal size, placing as close to game as possible is necessary. Height and angle matters. However, it's a good value for the money. Depends on your end usage of photos whether it's great buy for you.

This thing is a brick unless you have a few days to track down and buyd cards readers adapters firmware.. No cables or any way to connect to anything but a usb computer or buy converters until you find one that works. I've had this brick for months and spent about $50 in adapters and cords and readers and still cannot get it to connect to my phone. They say firmware is available but only for a usb computer or slap top. Very disappointed. A complete waste of time and money. This thing was discontinued for a reason.

First thing you notice is the obvious quality. Very small in size, easy to set up. Sensitivity is questionable beyond 30 feet: had it pointed in the direction of the driveway. Camera didn't catch my car leaving, stopping and getting out of my car to check the mailbox, or my husband wheeling the trash cans down the drive. Did catch me returning home and a delivery truck. Photos are very good quality. For the cost, I would highly recommend the Moultrie.
