A good meter for the home gamer or as a backup, get the 14070t instead.
The good - The meter is very rugged and looking over the internals it actually meets its CAT (electrical safety) and IP67 (water-proof) ratings which many inexpensive meters do not. The meter is a CEM rebrand but Southwire does offer calibration services if needed. The back-light is very good and the built in flashlight work well. The precision and accuracy are excellent and well within the specifications of the meter. The continuity buzzer is loud enough to be heard in a noisy environment (like working on an AC or automobile). The bad - The update speed on the continuity tester is slow. For most people in the segment this is designed for (the pro-sumers) I needed the faster update speed and other features of the Southwire 14070t which I also purchased and is a much better value.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
