  • Spyderco manix with maxamet blade

I'm a more prominent knife user than most and have come to enjoy the manix design over others. My previous knife had the S110v blade and did very well. The locking mechanism is awesome in that a ball bearing is holding your blade open...extremely strong design. This one (with the maxamet steel) has an notably more durable blade. It is a pain to sharpen, but holds an edge for a lonnnnngg time. Best knife I've ever had.

  • Excellent

Very great, glad Spyderco produced a folder with this steel. Also glad they made it in the lightweight version. It will help to keep people from using it as a pry-bar, this is very very hard steel which means it shouldn't be used that way. It is a cutting implement and a very good one at that. Holds an incredible edge. Has great action, great grip, great pocket retention, great blade retention when closed. You're mainly paying for the labor to produce the finished blade as this steel is extreme. I love the somewhat stonewashed finish they gave the blade, it helps it slip right through thick cardboard and the like. I'm pleased with this knife and will keep it in my pocket rotation.

  • Great blade

I'm enjoying the maxamet alot it's definitely a different animal than anything I normally purchase there's a lot of unknowns with this blade steels but it's holding up well for me in my edc It's not going to stand up and take the place of a screwdriver..... it's a blade take keep in mind it's a hard steel and I think it will last a lifetime. It's super lite. Polymer handle feels great. Great lock up and deployment.

  • Buy This Knife

All collectors must own a Maxamet blade. This knife is the best value. Spyderco makes very high end knives focusing on the best blade steel. I love this knife.

  • Very nice light EDC knife.

It has great action and grips. Feels different to sharpen but sharpens with diamond stones quickly. Have not dulled it in the week I have had it.

  • Almost perfect

The only downside was how stiff it was when I opened the box. Super stiff. After about a week of working the action, it is getting smoother. Can flick with thumb and finger. Just not drop shut smooth, yet. SUPER SHARP! Very lightweight.
