Seriously that's the only way we really know if this lock is any good or not. Having said that, its really slick! The way the lock learns your key is really cool! It's simple to install and I like it thus far so much so I bought another one. Why not 2 is better than one at least it will slow them down a little bit. Works only with SOME Jeep keys.
I bought this lock for my 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ due to the increase in tefts of spare tires in my area. Having a lock that uses you existing key is a great idea. Unfortunately the key for my '93 YJ would not work with this lock. The lock fit my lug bolts, but my key would not even enter the lock. I decided to give it to my son to use on his 99 TJ and his key went in flawlessly, however after programming the key we found that the lock would not clear the deep set lug nuts on his aftermarket wheels. Using the TJ key we tried it again on my spare and it fit, but just barely, rubbing the center cap on my spare. I had a couple of spares made of the TJ keys and and now able to use the lock, but not keyed to my existing key. This is a well built and sturdy lock, with great weatherproofing. I suppose it could be beaten off with a hammer, but would most likely take more effort and time than a thief would desire. I can't speak for the keys in other model Jeeps but my GM style key that is used on the YJ's would not work.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
