First off the images on the cover are a bit misleading. The tanks in this movie are very authentic looking WWII T-34's and Tigers. The film is rather arty and odd in parts, and centers mainly on Soviet tank driver that has a miraculous recovery after being the sole survivor of an ambush by the titular German supertank. A lot of the movie is discussions about the nature of war and how it changes people. The main character recovers from his physical injuries, but suffers from an odd form of amnesia that erases his past but allows him to retain all his fighting skills. As the hunt for the White Tiger goes on and the body count mounts, the higher ups start questioning the sanity of our hero. Overall the movie is more centered on existential angst and psychological tension than action. A lot of time is spent where various characters are engaged in discussions, often centered on trying to make decisions where the only options are bad ones. In that respect it's reminiscent of Peckinpah's "Cross of Iron." That being said the three action scenes in it are pretty good and the lack of reliance on CGI makes them actually look better than the tank on tank battle in the movie "Fury." So, if you're looking for a stock war movie, I'd give this one a pass. If you're looking for something that combines some philosophical discussions overlaid over a modern version of an extended "Weird War Tales" comic, this is the movie for you.Read full review

This is a really strange movie! The action scenes are well done and it appears that the tanks used were all real T 34's and the Tiger looked good. That said, the director and screen play were all messed up. This movie has possibly one of the stupidest and most confusing endings in cinema history. Actually none of it makes sense. A Russian tank driver is the only survivor of a massacre of an entire tank battalion by the White Tiger German tank. Burned over 90% of his body, he fully recovers in 3 weeks, has the sudden ability to talk to dead tanks and learn who killed them, and sets out with a special killer version of a T 34 for revenge. It gets weirder from there! Skip this one.

After watching WHITE TIGER I was disappointed in the movie. I was expecting much better. The tanks were cool and the battle scenes were good. But the story line was child like and hokey. The acting was not very good either. Sorry I wasted the $ buying this one.

Plots pretty lame but a lot of what seem to be authentic tanks and su152's , I believe in the railroad yard it shows a knocked out lend-lease British tank and a t26. It's a good rainy day movie. The tiger is , well....its a movie right.

love seeing historical from the Russian perspective, very entertaining but more importantly getting a taste of the suffering that went on at the Eastern Front. Makes me glad to be an American
