I was in the market for a budget preamp and anyone who has shopped around can tell you preamps get expensive fast, especially for two channel ones. I was looking for the most economic stereo preamp solution and found owning two of these was good. While some will say these are not great preamps because they lack the color that nicer (i.e. very $$$) preamps add to a sound, they do the job of taking a weaker signal and making it stronger without bring in any noticeable additional noise. So for me I'm using these for awhile until I feel I can appreciate how they sound before investing in something more expensive. These units are sturdy and don't cut any corners in what matters in a tube preamp. They may lack nicer preamp color, but they do the job and at this price point it's a great value.Read full review

Cheap and easy to use for home recording. Just make sure to upgrade the tube. I switched mine out for a vintage GE and it made a HUGE difference in warming the sound. (This is true of pretty much any gear today)

Best musicians tool ever! Cheap, dependable, & can take beating. I used one playing bars & clubs 4-6 x's monthly for 3 years at the start of this century, - it outlasted me! Worked great as DI- played bass thru it when we recorded promo CD to shop band to potential venues. I recently bought 2- one for acoustic guitar, one for mic, I only play in my garage, but hands down the best tool. I would buy the dual pre amps, but for some reason it costs double plus compared to 2 singles.

It works good. My KSM32 sounds even better. I love the clear sound I was looking for. I purchased it to connect my sennheiser G3 system (an idea that worked... that little mic sounds as a bigger one). Decided to test it as well in my home studio and now my investment is giving me doble income. The way I have it connected is: Home studio: KSM32 - Tube MP Studio - DBX 286S - Focusrite Scarlett solo - PC Wireless mic system: Sennheiser G3 - Tube MP Studio (short XLR cable) - Mixer So happy!!!

We are using this in a student run radio station and it's just the ticket to warm up and juice an otherwise flat mic. You can't beat the price and it does the job!
