Up for sale is EBC 2008 Desmosedici RR Ducati GPFAX BRAKE PADS RACE ONLY. The vendor part number is GPFAX447HH. This is a blend of brake pad that has higher friction and far better grip than any other brake product on the market.
These pads are great for a dedicated race bike. If you street ride your bike at all, skip these and go straight to the EPFA pad. The EPFA pads are great pads themselves but don’t require nearly as much heat to work.
The GPFAX pads are great at he race track and inspire confidence needed to be on the brakes hard and late. I have yet to experience any drama using them. They have very good initial bite and the stopping power grows from there as they get hot. Instead of having to squeeze the lever more as you are on the brakes setting up for a turn you maintain the same pressure on the grip and the braking force builds, essentially becoming more effective as they heat up. The initial bite is good but isn’t so drastic it causes you to be apprehensive about “grabbing a hand full”. When hauling down from 170mph plus going down hill setting up for turn 5 at Road America these pads truly shine.
I’ve used a few other pads, most recently Brembo “race” pads and they didn’t inspire confidence at all. The Brembo pads didn’t last very long either. If I had a single complaint about these pads it would be longevity. With the lap times I’m running and the speeds I’m coming down from, I doubt I can find a pad that will work as well AND last any longer. I can get one weekend of trackdays or racing from the GPFAX pads on my 2019 Kawasaki. The Brembo pads lasted about 1/2 that.
So far, I have not found a better brake pad for the race track.
