    Non OEM

These are working great so far. Appears to be slightly lower quality than OEM and does not have any marking as to which side is cylinder side. Pay attention when you remove the old coils as to which side the wire is coming out of the coil and try to match up the new one that way. These will not work if positioned backwards. 2 new coils solved my lack of idle, low power, popping and stuttering. The price for 2 is less that one OEM Briggs so it is definately worth a shot.

    decent coil

this is all most a drop in replacement. the coil i got seems OK-- but its spark plug wire is VERY short and would not fit my engine even though it is supposed to be a direct replacement. . since the grass was growing like mad , there was not enough time to send the coil back and order some other brand-- i was able to jury rig this one and get the grass cut. not easy or fun at all--lol more trouble than it was worth IMHO. -- if you have a rather large briggs engine i suggest getting something else as the wire will be just short enough to cause all kinds of problems. had the ignition wire been one inch longer it would have been fine. --

  • Not worth my money

Same issues as noted by others; ignition terminal is on wrong side for direct replacement. This required me to cut cable ties to gain as much wire length as possible to reach the spade terminal. Still a stretch. Sparkplug cable too short. This caused the cable routing to take a direct path to the plug, in contact with the hot cylinder head. The cable has little heat resistance and melts to the core easily, allowing the spark to short out. The cable also has no potting for strain relief where it enters the coil. No rubber boot on the spark plug cable. The picture is accurate in the listing, but i failed to notice beforehand. No markings on the coil to indicate which side mounts up. This coil worked for me, until the plug wire melted through, and grounded out. It would not fire after that. In short this is a cheaply manufactured unit that may (or may not) work for you. I will look for an OEM coil now. I will gladly pay more for a single quality unit, rather than pay a little for several of these and still not be mowing.

  • Briggs & Stratton Ignition Coil

well...coil produces very weak spark and the kill connector was on the wrong side of the unit so...my wire didn't reach and I had to extend the wire. Mower still won't start, possibly because spark isn't hot enough to ignite the gas vapors. OEM spark plug boot doesn't fit on this wire because of the right angle connector. This would have been a good value if it worked for me out of the box. My model engine was one of the ones listed as supported by the part.

  • 2-pk. Ignition coils for Briggs 14HP twin.

It came quickly and solved my hot stalling issue, I gapped them with a paint chip sample card from the hardware store, I had no business cards on hand, it worked perfectly. The plug wires were a bit long for my application, so I would have preferred an option to cut them to fit and the crimp on the connectors, but not everyone may be comfortable doing that...

  • Good replacement part.

I purchased this coil for a Bolens (MTD) 38in riding mower with a Briggs & Stratton 13.5hp engine.. The spark plug wire is some 2 inches shorter than the OEM and the connector on this one is at a 45 degree angle where the OEM was straight. Even though this coil is less than half the price as an OEM part, It works just as well. This coil is a good aftermarket replacement part.

  • Coil fits and works

The unit fits and works perfect. The negative is the length of the plug wire. On several other brands the spark plug wire is too short so this is a good trade off. I will most likely have to cut the wire and put the boot end on the cut portion. I don't like doing this at all but under the circumstances I have little choice.

  • Spark plug connector not as pictured.

Magneto not as pictured, the one I received had a curved spark plug connector. Had to use connector, wire insulator and plug boot from old magneto. Worked great after conversion.

  • Magneto for a Briggs & Stratton engine

I put this magneto on my lawn tractor and it started right up and ran great. The only con was that the spark plug wire was too short and it didn't have a boot on it. Still I am happy with this deal.

  • Ignition coil for lawnmower

I gave this a negative review at first, but after examining the coil again, it looks like it has a small cut on the sparkplug wire. I don't know if it was like this from the start or if it was nicked after installation. The coil did work perfectly finr for about 45 minutes before the failure.
