I'll be darned, this stuff works!
I had a sparkling-clean pond for nearly 20 years without having to do anything at all... must have been well balanced. But either because of the odd weather or lots of leaves and stuff getting in the pond over the spring and summer, it got very cloudy-brown. I'm used to 'blanket' algae, which lifts out with a net and isn't really a problem, but not what was making my water totally opaque now. So I got some generic algaecide, but all that did was make the suspended particles clump-up on the surface, and they were so fine that they couldn't be lifted out. So I found this stuff on eBay and was immediately skeptical; I mean, it's derived from barley or whatever, sounded too 'natural' to be worthwhile. But I got some anyway and I have to say, this stuff is fantastic. My pond is only a couple of hundred gallons, so the dose was less than an ounce. Next day I could see the bottom of the pond, and the day after that it was clear. I'm impressed!
