I already knew this to be the case before I bought it, but the teleconverter works really good with plenty of light and the closer you can get to the subject. Because you lose one full stop of light, if using a 200-500mm lens with widest aperture of 5.6, especially on a crop sensor camera which puts the equivalent focal length at at over 1000 mm, it’s difficult to get sharp pictures in lower light and without a tripod. Overall, I’m happy with the extra reach it gives me.

This product is very good. I use it on my 70-200mm Lens. I shoot kids Soccer, I use a Nikon 750 body. The combination works well for me. you have to use it on a fast Lens. (2.8) is a must. If you still want to separate your subject from the background. Try using a a teleconverter before dropping big $$$$ for a long fast lens.

I've had several teleconverters over the years that have only given me mediocre results. However, I have now found the one teleconverter that gives me the results I've been looking for. I'm using this converter with the Nikon 80-400mm G lens and a Nikon D810 and I'm extremely pleased with the results. Snappy accurate focus that produce excellent fine detail in the images!

Great companion with my 300mm f4 PF. Didn't slow down auto focus on my D500.
