I bought the Titan 70 to replace the acoustic kit that I sold due to disability. The versatility in spacial placement options alone made it worth the buy. ( I couldn't operate the Hat pedal after spinal fusion.)
Being able to put pedals/pads in any place or angle makes it easier for my special needs.
It talks to Reaper as a MIDI controller no problem. The module unit is SUPER easy to navigate to edit drum kits and individual instruments. Nice array of known samples from popular Tama, Pearl, Ludwig kits and more. Practice modes are basic but, also easy to get to and use.
The only down sides I have found as a 30+ year player on acoustic kits is,
1: Finesse...you have to develop a lighter touch to get the full range and not just max hit on everything. (Its also easy to adjust those pressure sensitivities, threshold, cross talk etc.)
2: NO ANDROID apps/support. It shows an IPad in use in photo ads and they mean IPad./Apple only. You can still use the 1/8 stereo headphone out from your Samsung phone or other devices with stereo out.
3. Plastic clamps & Adjustment wing nuts. OK today but, repeated adjustment will wear plastic unlike metal.Only a problem with multiple players who will move things constantly to adjust for height and reach differences. A single player should be able to set things once for the most part and tighten occasionally. For the price, metal cymbal/tom clamps should be standard.
Overall, I love it. Fun, useful in recording and much quieter than regular drums for home use.
I would indeed recommend the Titan 70 for an upper lever beginner/intermediate kit, especially for home practice of rudiments and favorite songs.
