The spring and summer of 1977 were the final days for the life of Elvis Presley. He embarked on what would be his last-ever series of sold-out concerts in the United States. CBS negotiated a deal for a major television special to be aired later in the year. The result is the live double-album, "Elvis In Concert". While he might not have been in the greatest physical shape of his life by any means, he still gave 110%. Originally issued as a 2-disc vinyl LP, with the soundtrack to the special on disc 1 and additional songs on disc 2, it was later reissued as a single-disc CD. Elvis made some very interesting choices in his song selections, which span his entire recording career from 1954 to 1977. There are brief audio tracks of comments from Elvis' fans, mixed together with the songs from the special. And, a closing comment from Elvis' father Vernon. Some of his best-known songs are featured: "See See Rider", "That's All Right", "Jailhouse Rock", "It's Now Or Never", "How Great Thou Art", "Early Morning Rain", "You Gave Me A Mountain", "Are You Lonesome Tonight", "Teddy Bear", "Don't Be Cruel", "Hound Dog", "Love Me", "Trying To Get To You", "Hawaiian Wedding Song", "Little Sister", "Fairytale", "What'd I Say", "I Got A Woman", "Johnny B. Goode", "And I Love You So", "I Really Don't Want To Know", "Hurt", "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)" and "Can't Help Falling In Love" are the musical selections that were an integral part of Elvis' stage repertoire from this final tour. These songs in this album were performed in Omaha, Nebraska on June 19th and Rapid City, South Dakota on the 21st. Together, they comprise a unique chapter in the legacy of Elvis Presley, giving the listener a glimpse of what he did during that time. A highlight of this CD is Elvis introducing his father Vernon to the audience. Originally released after his death, "Elvis In Concert" remains a special album that brilliantly chronicles the end of a musical icon.Read full review

I have this on LP and wanted this to finish my Elvis CD collection. I enjoy the album and while this isn't the best concert album, it is certainly worth having for any Elvis fan.

Not One of His Best... I saw Elvis in concert a few times during his career. This is NOT the Elvis that came out on stage and wowed the crowd. Sounds like another product that RCA produced to cash in on Elvis' later years. This from a fan who had almost all his records back to the Sun Record years. This should be added only for Elvis completists!
Great cd. I love it. The message from Elvis’s father was a great addition. I’m extremely happy I bought it. There will never be another Elvis❤️
