  • Out Of The Closet

Kawariki or also known as Kawa, of the Maori tribe and traditions in New Zealand, is a husband and father, and he's also in the closet! I found this movie intriguing because gives insight how gays are viewed in other cultures. I didn't even know about the Maori people until I bought this movie, while watching the movie, I decided to google the Maori of New Zealand and there is a wealth of information about the people and their culture. What is not spoken of are gays of the Maori tribe, this film gives a bit on insight on that topic. This film has an underlying true to yourself doctrine, which I thought worked well with the film. In my opinion, it wasn't predictable, kept me entertained and allowed me to identify with the character. It's never easy coming out of the closet. I think this film is definitely worth a watch for anybody who is into gay films. I've watched this film more than once. Film is a good value. You can find it used here on eBay. Film is very entertaining and Characters were very engaging. Kept me at the edge of my seat. Film was released in October 2010. Film is in English & Maori languages.
