The writing gets better after the first 4 episodes. Stay with it.

I loved the original Magnum PI series and was not sure I would like the "rebooted" version but I was pleasantly surprised to find it is great! I absolutely love the twist of Higgins (Perlita Weeks) being a strong female character! Jay Hernandez does the role of Thomas Magnum, the "white knight" proud. The entire supporting cast is strong.
