I purchase from you often and I wish you would note when items are library items with the multitude of stickers as I prefer NOT to purchase those items. That said, it was in fair condition and it played fine so I'm OK with it.

I first saw this film at a charity screening in 1973. The trailer had been so good and i told my mother that I would really like to see this musical ( I loved musicals you see) Anyway the day came . most exceited. i even bought the brochure which i still have. The opening flying shot was breathtaking and then it went downhill from there. I remember Bobby Van's number and The World is a Circle but the rest was so dirgy. how could they put all those non singers like Peter Finch, Liv Ullman, Olivier Hussey, George Kennedy into a musical. I mean what were they thinking. I remember coming out at the end so disappointed but I still went I bought the album!! Seeing the film again on a large screen in the correct ratio was quite emotional ; and yes the film is not very good...but it has survived and has not dated. Yes the dirges are still awful.and there is simply no chemistry between Finch and Ulman. The openind section is good and keeps the momentum going up to Shrangri La. It is far too long but there is great charm and it is polished, well made and looks great So to reccommend? well if you enjoy Bacharach, yes but this is not his best score. If you have a couple of hours to kill. give it a chance. It may surprise youRead full review

I would highly recommend watching this movie. The Lost Horizon is one of the greatest movies I have ever watched. The story line, the acting and scenery in this movie is absolutely amazing. I am very thankful that a good friend of mine told me about this movie.

This version is NOT (I repeat, NOT) THE 1973 MUSICAL version. THIS is the ORIGINAL (mostly restored) version of the original (1939?) release. By mistake, I ordered the MUSICAL first and found it a bit too sweet for my taste but, after viewing THIS DVD, I can say, story-wise, the musical is very true to the original version! A very young Jane Wyatt, is very pleasant on the eye too. This version, however, (unlike the S. Korean DVD) has extras, including a version of the film accompanied by a director's (or persons who did the restoration?) commentary throughout. Very interesting for real film buffs! Guess that's it!
