Don't Skimp! Get the OEM for less hassle and save the headache
TLDR: Use only the OEM Mopar part for the engine compartment light. My original equipment light on my Dodge Charger stopped working a while back, and I replaced the bulb. Still nothing. Fixed the wiring harness. Still no light. I had another one of these light assemblies for my Ram 1500 truck and it lit up fine (but was going to be used in my truck; see my other review). So I made an error in judgement: I ordered the D*rm*n branded one for half the price. Mistake! First problem is that the bulb is SOLDERED into the mount, so when it dies, the whole assembly has to be changed out. And, the switch to trigger the light doesn't work at the angle of the Dodge Charger hood when open. It only turns on at a nearly 90˚ angle, so it was useless. To its credit, it did light up. My original was dead, and my repaired wiring harness now worked, but I had no light again. So I ordered the OEM Mopar light to make it quick and easy. So, if you want to avoid a hassle and a waste of $10, avoid the D*rm*n brand replacement and only use the original equipment part.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
