    X-Bull chainsaw

As you read this review keep in mind two things. 1. I am not comparing this saw to a name brand like Husqvarna but to say the same size of a saw from Husqvarna is $519. 2. I’m not a pro, but a weekend warrior. This is mostly for firewood cutting. This saw is well worth the $112 i paid for it. I was a little skeptical at first but this saw has proven me wrong. The quality of the build is OK. The plastic is a cheaper kind and not super refined. Though it works well. The throttle lock for starting is loose and you have to pull it out of the throttle to disengage it. It could use a small spring inside the housing. Though it works. The air filter is the same as you find in a Poulon. There is a gasket between the air filter and the carburetor. The throttle feels good and moves freely amd returns correctly. The bar is metal with a rubber coating and anti skid parts. I really like the anti skid part of the bar. The bar screws into the plastic housing. I’m not a fan of this, taking care of the saw and not abusing it hopefully it will be ok. The bar seems stiff and I haven’t had any problems of yet. The saw started on the second pull. Push the choke in and second pull it started and idled perfect. After a warm up it revvs fast and hard. The saw is very responsive to the throttle. My biggest recommendation so far is to change the spark plug to a NGK. The stock one is just OK. So far i have cut for about two hours on the saw. The saw cuts better than I expected. It is smooth and the anti vibration bushings work very well. I was cutting a 16” tree and it was like butter. Very smooth and plenty of power. I have had to adjust the chain twice as it broke in and after the second time it has not loosened at all. The bar oiler has an adjustment which is way cool. It oils the chain well, I turned it quarter of a turn for more oil and it oils well. The bar is great. It is stiff and has a greaser hole to grease the bearing amd the chain fits great. Before I started cutting a small amount and it cut good. I sharpened the chain before i cut up a tree fall from winter and it cuts like butter. The saw is well balanced and stable when cutting. Very little vibration feedback. For a weekend warrior and fire wood this saw will be a great addition to my gear. The saw could use some small refinement in a couple of areas. The throttle lock being tighter in the housing with a release spring, the choke puller being a little tighter in the housing and a thicker housing where the bar screws into. Over all for the price I am happy with the saw. It cut and ran how I would expect a saw of double the price to preform. For the weekend warrior cutting firewood or storm cleanup I could not see spending $4-500 on a saw with how well this saw worked. The longevity is still to be seen but for two hours it works great.

Good saw get protection plan had issues with it right away

I bought this saw have had experience with logging saws curious of how well it would perform it started easy and after break in cut wood one time cut great had plenty of power but then started having throttle issues and saw dust was getting in the carb through the stock filter thought it was a linkage or something but the carburetor was sticking on it and you can’t find parts for it anywhere. I Got the 2 year protection plan on top of the one year warranty it comes with. My advice is to get the protection plan hopefully they will honer the warranty.

  • GREAT FOR THE PRICE

Just received it, (Just want to say I have used chainsaws for 50 years)started 3rd pull. The easy start system fills odd, but works well, will get use to it. The accessories are not much. For the price it seems to be worth it. I will up date after I use it more. Update; Cut a small tree, cuts very fast, chain sharp. Smokes like a steam train up a mountain. I will run first tank at 25:1 then will reduce to 32:1 see how that goes. Will continue to update as I use it more. I can see this saw will need to be tweaked a little now and then, so if you are some one that has to have some one else do all your mechanical work, I don't recommend this. Update; been using it for cleaning logs(cutting off limbs, cutting logs to length) for my sawmill. The more I use it the more I like it.Update been using for over a year, No problems, still starts easy. I did open the exhaust some, really helped, more power.

  • X bull chainsaw

I bought this one out of curiosity since i like chainsaws. This saw starts easy and has plenty of cutting power. The grip on the handles is very comfortable, the air filter cover has a nice snap lock to hold it in place. The air filter is a good quality washable mesh filter held by a wing nut. My only issue is the chain adjuster being at the front of the bar and chain cover instead of on the side. Side access is much easier.

  • Good saw for the money

Good saw for the money. Not very durable and the tensioning system is problematic. Otherwise, starts easily and runs strong, been using for a few days with the tree guys and they like the weight to power.

  • Surprised a bit

Have cut about 3 cords of firewood with this saw, and am running it alongside Jonsered, Echo, and Dolmar saws, all over 50 cc. This keeps up remarkably well with saws that are 10 times the price. Does it out cut a 55 cc Jonsered? No, but I can buy 10 of these for the same price. This saw is pretty light for its size, and with a SHARP chain it has handled 30 inch mesquite stumps. The only issue is vapor lock. When you shut it down and leave it sitting for longer than 10 minutes it will not prime, no matter how many times you hit the primer bulb. I've found 2 solutions to this, 1) if letting it sit for longer than 10 minutes crack the fuel cap open untill ready to restart. If your primer bulb doesn't fill the only option is 2)to let it cool down. Bottom line, it's a good saw for a homeowner. But it's still a gas chainsaw, and whether it's a hundred dollars or a thousand dollars you WILL need to keep it sharp, and pull on it more than twice to get it to go. Would I buy it again? You bet I would.

  • This thing just walked the dog on every chainsaw at this price

Little hard to start out of the box but this thing is worth every penny of what you get and then some it has a wonderful power range Power band was perfectly it restarted just fine cut through at least three 24in Pines probably overkill for the average homeowner but works awesome

  • Better Than Expected!

I ordered this saw as a gift for my husband, as his Poulan Pro XL has been giving problems lately. We use wood heat, so he needed something to cut firewood through the winter and do clean-up on our property. I saw this saw and read the reviews. I was fully aware this is a Chinese made saw, but for 62cc's at just under $100, it was a deal I felt I couldn't pass up. I took a chance, but so glad I did! My husband unboxed the saw and because of the pricing compared to the better known name brand saws, he wasn't expecting much. He thought the saw might be flimsy and cheap made. He looked it over and even though it's lighter weight, seemed to be of decent quality. The real test came when he mixed up his fuel and fired the saw up. He said it cranked easily. In fact, he said it was the easiest of any saw he's previously owned. Then he went out and cut up several large, red oak logs. It went through them like a knife through hot butter! The saw is easy to operate and cuts like a dream! No problems with it bogging down and there is plenty of power there to tackle the bigger jobs here on the farm. The saw does come with tools, a decent chain, mixing container etc. He is using what came with the saw temporary, until we can purchase better implements. We do agree and will reiterate what some of the others have said.. do install a good quality spark plug, get yourself a good chain, such as an Oregon. I was told the '20 (21LPX076G) with the .325 pitch, .058 gauge & 76 drive links should fit most of the '20 Chinese made saws. Mix up a good quality 25:1 fuel and you should be good to go! My husband is so impressed by the saw, we are thinking of ordering another one! You can't beat the price for what you get. Good luck!

  • great saw and more than worth the money

Excellent handling saw. Starts right up. Very light saw.I do a lot of cutting and have tried it on my chainsaw mill and it works just fine. The chain is cheap grade steel and dos not stay sharp (cheap chinese steel). I put a top grade ripping chain on and it performs great. I am going to buy the 75cc saw and see how that works out.
