Better than the rebuild kits these days?
I prefer a good ole Motorcraft stamped carb, but am growing tired of the petrified rebuild kits that last a few weeks before all the rubber parts fail. That said, I figure for the price of this thing it is worth a shot. It comes with the thick plenum gasket/spacer and the top air cleaner base gasket also. I just had to transfer over the threaded fuel barb and a few vacuum port plugs to match my existing setup. I am using it on a de-computerized and Duraspark converted 85 Bronco II with a 2.8. It matched the carb I pulled off exactly and bolted right up, linkage and all. With a few tweaks to the idle quality and idle speed screws it runs great. Adjusting the Choke always takes me a few days of trial and error, but so far it is working and kicking down as it should. Cant be certain about the longevity of this carb, but so far it has been worth the gamble.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Don't know if it works.
Haven't been able to start the engine, to much retrofitting. Everything is different, throttle linkage, fuel inlet different. Car is up on jack stands. No way to push it outside if there is a leak. Hopefully next week mI can get it out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Disappointed
Don't know what oil ports you're referring to that must be flushed out. But I blew it out with carburetor cleaner installed it on a 1977 F150 with a 351 Cleveland stroker motor. AKA 351 m400. 400 block with 351 Cleveland heads. In a 150 4x4 it's a torque monster. Works a whole lot better with a new carb on it. Shipping was fast item as described.
