Have had 5 of these. So quiet I forget to turn off and run down batteries. One conked in a week & got noisy, one lemon I guess, 4 still good if maintained. Tip - put out butts in a separate tray or get stuck on lid impairing closing. Clean inner lid with alcohol to remove tars and change filters often. I have 3 now in 3 places I smoke. Fan filters smoke BEFORE it gets to motor. GOOD. Other brands smoke goes past motor and gunks up motor then out filter and conk.. dumb designs. When these conk I'll reorder. Lost 1 star for one lemon out of 5. I don't think the top fit down right on that one so fan stopped in a week. Price is right to reorder. Highly recommend.

As long as the Cigar is in the Ashtray it pulls the smoke through a filter. Once you take the Cigar out of the Ashtray smoke goes everywhere. Where do you Exhale? Into the Machine? The Exhaust actually blows the smoke around the room if the Cigar is not in the Ashtray. I should have thought this through, but I now realize nobody can build an ashtray to suck out the fumes out of a room.

Works great for cigarettes and small cigars. I found that the larger cigars do not work as well, because one has to continuously draw on the lager cigar types to keep them lit, so the cigar stays in the mouth longer than the smaller ones, which is no fault of the ashtray. Other than that it is well made, easy to use and of good value.

I bought this in order to smoke in my living room if I wanted to versus outside the house. Of course, it is helpful to a point. My observations are that some of the smoke tends to curl up outside of the blower/filter area so turning on a ceiling fan or opening a door to the outside is necessary. The placement of the indentations around the edge of the tray are not adequate & the cig has actually fallen out quite a few times. The cig's burn very quickly, and it's a little too noisy. It's hard for me to open the lid.

It arrived and I put in the batteries. When I used it the first time it seemed to get most of the smoke IF I kept the cigarette in the ashtray. It sure is awkward holding it in the ashtray when you'r not taking a puff. Now I have to play with it to find the sweet spot that grabs the smoke. I WILL NOT be ordering another one.
