Factory rubber grips that come on revolvers today are designed to do one thing...save the company money. Over-molded rubber grips with finger grooves that don't always fit your finger and position your hand further down from the bore axis are not what a Smith and Wesson revolver was ever intended to wear. These classic wood grips put your hand where it was originally intended; high on the backstrap with your fingers BEHIND the trigger guard. With your hand higher up on the revolver and more inline with the bore, recoil is straight back reducing muzzle flip allowing for quicker follow up shots. These grips are very high quality. You can pay a lot more and not get any better. They are thick enough to fill the hand and small enough to conceal if that is your desire.
