    Perfect for my application

I have this on a 10 gallon stocked with fish from a "sluggish current" invironment. This filter is perfect for this purpose. It filters and polishes the water without creating a disruptive current in the tank; just enough to circulate the water. The indluced foam filter media works great but I recommend purchasing the Biomaxx "S" cartridges to polish the water. I also have one of these on a 2.5 gallon betta tank and 2.5 gallon ghost shrimp/snail tank. It works great on them, as well.

Good Product, but required some repair

First, the bad: the flow adjuster had a leak on mine. The leak let air into the water inlet, which would make an intolerably loud crunching sound when it got to the impeller. I fixed this by smothering the flow adjuster in superglue. It's unfortunate that this was necessary, because otherwise this is a great product. I recommend it to anyone who needs a low-flow, small sized filter without a flow control knob. I purchased this item to put on the side of a ~14" cylindrical tank, hoping that it would be small enough to fit on the curved edge. It's a perfect fit. My only additional criticism is that, although the inlet can be adjusted, the "shortest" setting is not very short. A filter designed for small aquariums should be adjustable for a shallow depth.

  • Good hang-on-back Filter for Nano Tanks

Perfect for my 2.5 gallon tanks. I have purchased several of these filters and they have not disappointed. I use them with baby fish and crayfish. The Bio Max maintains a water quality necessary for both types of aquatic pets. These are super easy to maintain and only take a quick rinse to put back into service. Quiet operation and good water output are things I was looking for in a Nano Filter and this one does the job at a great price.

  • Perfect nano/tiny hang on filter smallest size you can find anywhere!

This is the coolest nano (tiny) hang on back filter I have ever seen. It literally fits in my hand. If you are looking for an extremely compact hang on filter, this is it! Exactly what I needed for a 3 gallon round 360 degree I picked up at a thrift store, it needed an upgrade from the horrible under gravel filter included. This size is non existent elsewhere! Comes with 2 different stage (ppm coarseness) sponge filters that are reusable (great for growing beneficial bacteria, no need to buy replacement cartridges, EVER! Has adjustable depth/length intake tube which is nice also. Cycling the nano tank now, can't wait to put either neon tetras or a betta in there!

  • Perfect for nano tanks

I have 3 of these, 2 on 2.5 gallon freshwater tanks and 1 on a 1.5 gallon bowl. Good current adjustment. A little on the loud side but no so loud that it's noticeable over normal room ambiance. Lots of room inside for media. Attractive, unobtrusive design.

  • Small and packed with plenty of power

Very efficient for such a small filter. Has plenty of options to add different media and upgrades. I have one on both a half gallon freshwater and saltwater setups.
