XS F8 night sights increase front sight focus by using a large, high-contrast front sight for fast sight acquisition. The wide notch rear sight easily aligns with the front sight and increases front sight visibility.
Excellent cross between big dot and traditional notch and post.
More of a traditional wide-U notch and post than the big dot; I prefer the XS DXT big dots for transitional and low light and moving. But what makes them good also makes them more difficult to shoot precisely on the range; namely that getting that big dot tangent to the wide V and vertically aligned properly for exact shots is difficult. Big dots CAN be shot accurately; but this takes work and they're more of a fighting sight. I have the big dots on my 19, 23, and 43x and like them. I put the F8 on the G43 to make it more of a compact 'range gun'; it retains enough of the big dot to grab your attention while also giving a bounded sight for more precise range shots and at distance. If I were clearing a house or in a low light situation I'd prefer the big dots but these come close in the bright straight 8 configuration while also giving the benefits of a bounded sight. As always, XS stuff is first rate quality and rugged. POA was equal to POI at 15 yards when a traditional sight picture was held; slightly high if centered on dot. Low light stuff was good. Pricey, but I've always been happy with the quality and ruggedness of XS sights.
These sights are great. Taller than standard sights. Works great for cowitnessing with an optic. The dots take some getting used to since they are 2 stacked dots and not the standard 3 dot. But great.
