Works perfectly
I have this same one at work and I really liked it, but I was too cheap to buy it new. This one from eBay works perfectly! My external monitor (VGA), TV (using the DisplayPort), keyboard, and mouse all work great, and they come alive instantly whenever I dock. One thing I noticed is that when the external power is not plugged into the docking station (and the laptop is docked) the docking station does not function. This is important because I wanted to do a presentation and I didn't have a mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI (mini DisplayPort is the port on my laptop) cable, but I had a DisplayPort-to-HDMI (the port on the docking station) cable. I couldn't figure out why the image wasn't displaying on the TV. Then I finally plugged the docking station into the wall and it came up. In retrospect, perhaps this should have been obvious since the docking station cannot enable its ports unless it has direct power--it doesn't work off the laptop's battery.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

T430 Docking Station
Although the T430 is old, it is still a viable laptop. It helps that accessories for this laptop are now available at bargain prices. The Docking Station makes it easy to pick up the laptop and run without having to disconnect any cables. A good docking station
This docking station does not increase the footprint of the laptop. It's also got 6 USB ports, a display port connection, VGA, and what I assume to be a dvi connector. Everything works perfectly except for the audio in and out connections those might as well be there for show on mine hence the 3 star rating, however the audio jacks on the computer itself work fine while docked.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Well worth the few dollars it costs.
Gives the T420 up to 1920 x 1200 output to an external monitor (DVI or VGA). With the T430 , the resolution is what the native resolution is for the laptop screen. So don't be disappointed when you get poor quality graphics on a 24" monitor with a T430.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
