Nice deep sound for the price
I like all the sound features. I bought it because I wanted a wifi enabled speaker (not a bluetooth). The speaker performs really well in terms of sound taking into account the price I paid. I wouldn't pay the list price for this product. Good bass, might need a little bit of clarity in the middles, but if you really want a high quality sound speaker, you should pay for it... Regarding smart speaker features, the mic is not really good, the Google Assistant often has trouble understanding me. I have other 4 smart speakers (Google Mini, Display) and none of them have trouble understanding me. Great sound but Assistant does not work
The speaker is great BUT the voice assistant doesn't work! I have two other JBL Link speakers (one bought from the same supplier) and they are great. But this one won't connect properly. I've factory reset it about 15 times, created a new Google Home account, contacted JBL for support, and read advice online, but to no avail. I can cast music to the speaker from my phone but can't use the assistant at all, which is key. So, nice speaker but it doesn't work as it should.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great sound, technical glitches aside.
Other reviews point out the challenge of setting this speaker up in a Google Home network. I've got 7 other speakers including 2 other JBL and 2 Harmon. This is the only one that did not set up correctly right away. I had to turn annoying notifications on that beep every time I speak to it. Other people say they had to turn them off. For 70 bucks it's worth the 15 minutes it took to figure it out. It's not a problem when I cast from my phone, only when using voice commands. Sound quality as expected from JBL - Google Assistant functions good enough
I wasn't really looking for a smart speaker; I just wanted a good speaker, portable enough to be moved around the house. Bottom line, the JBL Link 300 didn't disappoint: sound is clear and balanced, and can get really loud for the size! The assistant is really useful, and being able to stream directly form the cloud is great. I'm dropping one star because there are a couple of Google Assistant functions I couldn't get to work on the JBL, namely the continued conversation and the night time led dimmer (reduce volume works, though).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Optimal but not great
First of all, this speaker cannot upgrade its firmware in any way. Version 1.25, no support for daily routines via Google Assistant, and it's ridiculous. The sound on this is fantastic for a speaker this size! Forget the Google Home. This has it beat by a mile and unless you want to drop 400 on a Max, there is nothing else that compares.
