disappointed
great idea for the solar part of it but it goes off when theres nothing around it. even if you put it on setting #1. when it stops spraying, dripping water in front of it makes it go off. the old style would spray one way then back the other way. this one sprays longer then it should. i should have spent the extra money for the old style.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Garbage, highly flawed knock-out copy.
Knock-out copy of better quality brands. The one I purchased had a steady dribble because the electric valve didn’t close all the way. One of the biggest flaws is it can’t be hooked-up to a garden hose without an adapter. Has only male fittings, so you need a hose with female on both ends. Only has a 3” step spike to hold it in the ground. Unless you have very firm soil it won’t stand up on its own. I wouldn’t step on the spike anyway, as the sprinkler is made up of much of that thin brittle plastic that breaks if you just look at it wrong. The water jet is wimpy and short lived and couldn’t scare a gerbil. I bought one that looks just like it, but is superior in every way.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not perfect but a barely acceptable substitute for the non-solar one.
The pros: o You don't have to change the battery every month or so. o It works like the older version with a replaceable battery. The cons: o When the battery becomes dead as a doornail, you get to send it to the landfill. If it had a replaceable, rechargeable battery this wouldn't be the case. We don't know how long the the battery will last, so: Will the deer chaser be defunct in a year? Two? Four? o It works like the older version with a replaceable battery; except, sometimes we have to turn off the deer chaser and let the batteries recharge. Kinda defeats the purpose. Summary: We like the convenience of not having to replace batteries every so often but hope the company takes the product from good to better.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Sun effects motion detection
