I first tried this tube in Marshall JCM2000 DSL 100 , on the clean channel the tube produced warm creamy bottom end , full mids and bell like tones in the highs like an old Wurlitzer juke box if you've ever had the pleasure of hearing one. On the overdrive channels however , the punch was not quite there and overall the tone was a little fuzzy , I don't know what the gain factor is could be less than 100. I then tried the tube in a Marshall VS100 combo, hybrid , In my experience long plate tubes give hybrid amps the thunder they were meant to produced . Well needless to say , the tubes new home is in the Marshall Valvestate 100 , it completely changed the sound of the amp , the bottom end is pure thunder. the overdrive channels roar like a lion on steroids , press in the scoop and deep buttons on the amp and watch the house shake. I love it. in the right application these are very nice tubes , they would probably sound really great in a Fender Amp.Read full review

Mullard 12AX7 Tubes made at their renowned Blackburn plant are without equal for preamp tubes. Sweet open top end, 3-D mids and a firm round bottom end are as good as these tubes get.

These are bedrock tubes that Fender used when your amp was new. What all others are judged against. Plentiful and cost effective.
