Oh, my gosh, it is GREAT. It is written with the same love and joy with which the paintings are painted. A quarter way through, I ordered a copy for my sister; half way I ordered a copy for my sister-in-law; 3/4 through and I ordered a copy for a friend. Besides the life of the artist and insight into his working process, this book makes the historical times come alive!
